💣 Why 2042?

2042 marks 100 years since the first nuclear test. That’s enough.
We’ve had a century to realize:

There are no winners in nuclear war. Only survivors – if any.

Nuclear weapons threaten everything we value: life, liberty, and the planet itself.
But it’s not just about danger — it’s about relevance:

💸 Nuclear weapons are extremely expensive.
Trillions of taxpayer dollars have been spent maintaining and upgrading them — resources that could fight climate change, disease, and poverty.

🎯 They were a solution to a different era.
In the 1940s, hitting a target required massive destructive power. Precision didn’t exist. Today, we have advanced, accurate, and scalable alternatives.

⚠️ Mass civilian casualties were once tolerated.
During WWII, entire cities were considered legitimate targets. But in the 21st century, intentionally killing millions is morally and legally indefensible.

🧠 Deterrence no longer needs mass destruction.
The concept of “Mutually Assured Destruction” can now be fulfilled with non-nuclear precision systems. Nuclear arms are not just dangerous — they are obsolete.

It’s time to move beyond the past.
It’s time for Zero Nukes by 2042.
